This Buddha has a nice face. As you can see the altar has worn away over time however it is still very well mounted. And though the tip of Ushnisha (flame) is missing, this piece still shows off its beauty and has a green grey patina.

Shown is a beautifully made crown buddha with strong Lanna (Thai) influences and known in Lao as Xongkhoung Buddha and it is mainly worshiped at festivals. It has black pearl eyes and mother of pearl eye whites. His fingers and toes are adorned with rings and his right arm is decorated with 4 arm bands. The altar he is sitting on represents an open lotus flower. This is one of the BEST Laotian buddha that you will ever see containing very heavy casting and lots of traces of gold gilding….. A great piece!!

This is a fine example of an early Lao Buddha. It has spent a fair amount of time underground and the bronze has a few different colours in it which makes it an interesting and unique piece.
